Added two most requested features:
1) KeePass 2.0 support;
2) Download KeePass files from a central server (e.g. DropBox);
I know neither of these two new features are perfect. KeePass 2.0 is not editable; and users still cannot access DropBox private files. I will be working to make them better :-)
Thanks a lot!
Update
The way MyKeePass revealing password has been changed. Now instead of clicking "Edit" button, you should click the big ugly asterisk button above username (on the right side) to see your password!

Hi, not sure if my comment sent from iphone had reached you - I post my problem here again: after updating to 1.1. I found my PW database, can open it, but do never see my PW´s - just asterixes. There is no chance to switch from astrix to letters. When I move cursor over PW entries, just "copy" pops up, but even when I copy - I could not paste it to anywhere.
ReplyDeletePls review this update.
2.) how can I recover the old version ?
Thanks for help.
krg Rob
thank you!!! i updated last night and i'm VERY pleased... great job dude!
ReplyDeleteaddendum: not even in "edit" mode I could see my PW´s :-(
ReplyDeletePls help, its urgent !
Thanks

Rob
sorry !! all back: I found the "trick" - just click on the asterix in the right corner - and voila - my PW´s are displayed again.
ReplyDeleteI thought, it was a "delete" button, so I never pressed it.
My apologize. You can delete all my posts.
Good work!!
Thanks

love dropbox integration - thanks a LOT!
ReplyDeleteI've been using Clipperz, and it's been great, but I've gotten an iPhone, and I think my password "solution" could be better. I've been trying to decide between LastPass and KeePass, with MyKeePass on the iPhone side. Let me ask you guys: Why should I use KeePass, and not Lastpass? It seems to boil down to: let someone else hassle with the database, or hassle with it myself. The point of keeping it to myself would be that no one else has access to the file, so they can't even TRY to decrypt it. However, it seems to me that giving the file to DropBox to host is the same thing as using LastPass: someone else has your file. But with DropBox, you have the added burden of keeping the database in sync in multiple places. So, again, why or why not? I'm going in circles thinking about it.
ReplyDeletehi!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update!
but...
databases with ä ö ü in the password dosent work.
errorcode: masterpassword wrong...
Well lasspass iPhone App cost your monthly since you need a premium account while mykeepass cost you only a dollar and last forever. Not to mention that you have to freedom to setup how to host your db as well.
ReplyDeleteIt's not displaying more than 4 main categories for me...?
ReplyDeleteMy root level categories that is, I have about 8 or so, and its truncating it to 4
Hello,
ReplyDeleteThis application should be able to display more than 8 categories. Do you mind telling me which KeePass version you are using (1.0 or 2.0)?
Thanks!
"databases with ä ö ü in the password dosent work". I am sorry about that bug.
ReplyDeleteCan you let me know the version of your file (kdb or kdbx)? Did it work in the previous version of MyKeePass?
Please consider saving http authentication name and password.
ReplyDeleteI bought MyKeePass because you added the option of having the db on an http server.
I am very happy to be able to save the kdbx file on my own server, and have password protected the directory where it is located, but it is quite cumbersome having to enter name and password besides the master password every time I open MyKeePass.
Thanks again for a great app.
Ahh, I see now that I only have to put in http authentication info when I have Use Cached File off. This makes it a bit easier.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI have just bought the application but I get the error message: File is not supported (error code:UnsupportedVersion).
I use Keepass 1.16, and I try to acces my Database.kdb which is on my personnal web page.
I also try a test file @ http://esd10.free.fr/test.kdb , password: test. But the same message appears...
If anyone can help me ?
Hello, I will take a look at your test file this evening and find out where the problem is.

Hi Anonymous! I Tried your test file and it works perfect. Have you updated to MyKeePass 1.10?
ReplyDeleteI like the update :) though I like the old blog layout better ;)
ReplyDeleteHave you thought about moving the site to the google code site you have, might make keeping track of issues easier instead of using blog comments.
Hi Rowan,
ReplyDeleteI am actually setting up a forum to track bugs :-) I will publish it only it is available.
Qiang
I have uploaded the test directly from my computer and it's working, so it is fine for me.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Thanks for the fix.
ReplyDeleteNew version working nice and stable.
Finally a way to securely import my PALM memos onto the iphone without needing to go over the internet.
Thanks for the great work !
ReplyDeleteAnother bug : The app crashes when you try to import kdb-files with special-characters like ä, ö and ü, which are usual in the german-language.
Just rename them and it works !
Hi Adriano,
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for the bug submission. I am already aware about that, and will fix it in the next release.

Just bought this. Excellent application, many thanks ! Please consider adding support for various protocols such as SSH, Telnet, RDP and VNC. I know that's a big task, I'm sorry. I would just make the application so more useful.
ReplyDeleteHi, the update with kdbx support is great! But folders like Backup and Recycle Bin are still searched, so one will find the same entry multiple times without seeing which one is current and which one is outdated or deleted...
ReplyDeleteDeleting of these subfolders inside the MyKeePass is futile since there's no save function...
The app is not compatible with the iPad (I don't know if it's because of the hardware or the iPhone OS 3.2) - it is not possible to upload a file to MyKeePass! The upload page doesn't open in the browser!
On a native iPad app (GoodReader) with a similar upload page I recognized that the app requests a confirmation from the user before the browser is able to access the iPad, and displaying the upload page. Maybe that has changed with the new OS...?
Hi Joe,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the input. I remember I tested the "Backup" and "Recycle Bin" folder when searching. They should be excluded. I will double check with that (which version you are using? KeePass 1.0 or KeePass 2.0?).
I will do some research seeing how difficult it is to make it iPad compatible. But please be patient, I will not have much time working on the project until early May because of various reasons. I will pick it up later.
Thanks again.

Love the kdbx support - just switched from iKeePass for that very feature. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteOne challenge I seem to have is that typing a complex master password to open a database is almost painful. Either having a landscape mode for the keyboard on that screen (instead of the tiny portrait-mode keyboard) and/or the ability to show an entire password (instead of just the last letter) could help alleviate some of the pain. Are either of those planned features?
Keep up the great work - great program! Thanks!
On my Windows XP SP3 desktop mu KeePass database is accessed using a keyfile without a master password. Will there be support for use of a keyfile? My current workaround is to copy the database, open this new db, enable the use of a master password without the use of a keyfile. After this I upload this new db to my iTouch.
ReplyDeleteWith version 1.1 access to the KeePass kdb is very slow once the password has been entered. (Using current generation iTouch with current OS.) Access was much quicker with previous version. Anyone have similar issue?
ReplyDeleteUpdate to previous posts. To remove the use of a keyfile, first access you desktop kdb and EXPORT it as a kdb. Follow the prompts to remove the current password and/or keyfile. Supply a new password of your choice for use on the iPhone/iTouch: the new kdb will be re-encrypted using this new password. Upload the exported kdb. Access on the iPhone/iTouch will now be much quicker.
ReplyDeleteI would easily pay $9.95 if the use of a keyfile was added. Hint, hint! :)
ReplyDeleteHey, A KeePass port on the iPhone was the last major thing I needed on my phone so was very pleasantly suprised when I suddenly saw the last update today and have purchased it and it works well. I do have a few suggestions:
ReplyDeleteYou have the little grey boxes next to the files. It looks like you are mixing up both the source of the file and the type of file into the same icon. Why not have two columns: one to show where the keepass file is located web, on device and so on and then the other to show whether it is a ver 1 or ver 2 file?
Dropbox support from a secure folder would be very welcome
Also, if you could make the interface more snazzy with a few nicely used graphics and gave it an overal nicer feel that would I'm sure help a lot.
I'm sure editing of online files and editing of ver 2 files will come so I am just adding a +1 to that request.
I do ahve several other suggestions but i'm sure there will be many updates to come hopefully.
Thanks so much
Neil!!!!
where to download the apps ?
ReplyDeleteIs there any chance you could compile this as a Mac OS X app? The current KeePassX doesn't support http and it would be a great improvement for Mac users.
ReplyDeleteAnyone have any luck accessing file from google docs? I have the link that I can download the file directly from my browser, but the app says it is unable to download...
ReplyDeletewhare downloaad mykeepass please
ReplyDeleteDropbox link to user manual is a dead link
ReplyDeleteHi, the app vanished from the german AppStore. Why? Is it just me having this Problem?
ReplyDeleteso is this project dead? searched for MyKeePass on the US appstore with no luck... only can find ikeepass
ReplyDeleteIt's back in the German AppStore...but I cannot upload my files :-(

ReplyDeleteit's official, this is dead. it's been so long without an update and files saved using KeePass 2.15 onwards CANNOT be opened with this iPhone app. The error code is UnsupportedVersion.
ReplyDeleteKeep getting the master password error.
